PadelNote — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 24 August 2026
PadelNote is a scorekeeper for padel matches. It is built to run on the smallest possible amount of data, and to keep that little under your control. This page explains, in plain words, what data exists, where it lives and who can see it.
What the app handles
- Player identifiers: free text for each player — a name, a nickname or an alias, as you prefer. Your real name is not required: it only serves to recognise who is playing on screen and in the stats.
- Player picture (optional): more a mark of recognition than a photo. See the dedicated section below.
- Matches and scores: date, line-ups, the sequence of points, outcome.
- Settings: chosen rules, serving order, language, group link.
The app does not collect or use: location, contacts, microphone, advertising identifiers, browsing data or usage analytics.
The "photos" are not photos
If you pick an image for a player, the app transforms it on your device — the original image is never sent anywhere and is not kept. The result is a tiny two-colour illustration (black and white) made of dots, a technique called dithering, at most 128 pixels on the long side. It is closer to a stamp or a woodcut than to a photograph: it helps you tell players apart at a glance, not portray them faithfully. A drawing or a symbol works just as well.
Where the data lives
- By default: only on your phone. Everything is saved in the local storage of the device's browser. Without syncing, nothing leaves the phone.
- With syncing (optional): if you create or open a group link, the group's archive — identifiers, black-and-white illustrations and matches — is stored on a server (Cloudflare, which hosts the app) so that several phones can share the same data.
Who can see synced data
Anyone who has the group link can read and change that group's data: that is how your playing partners' phones stay in step. The link holds a long random code that cannot be guessed, so: share it only inside the group, and do not put anything in names or images that you would not share with them.
Purchases (iPhone and Android app only)
The app is free. Inside the iPhone and Android apps you may optionally buy the commentary (the two voices telling the match). That purchase is handled by Apple or Google — we never see your payment details — and is recorded through RevenueCat, the service that tells the app whether the purchase is active. RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier for your installation and the transaction details, nothing else. See RevenueCat's privacy policy. On the website there are no purchases at all.
Your controls
- Delete matches: in the Stats screen every match can be deleted; the deletion travels to the other phones in the group at the next sync.
- Delete players and their pictures: a deleted player keeps their matches in the statistics, but under an anonymous name and without a picture.
- Export your data: the Export button downloads the whole archive as a readable file (JSON).
- Start over: clearing the site data in your browser (or uninstalling the app) removes everything held on the device.
Services used
The app is hosted on Cloudflare Pages and, for optional syncing only, uses Cloudflare KV storage. Cloudflare handles the traffic as any hosting provider does (for example technical request logs); it receives no data beyond what is described above. In the store apps, RevenueCat is used for purchases as described above. No other third-party service is involved: no advertising SDKs, no analytics tools, no social networks.
Changes to this policy
If the way the app works changes in a way that matters for privacy, this page will be updated and the date at the top will reflect it.
Contact
For questions about this policy, write to the contact listed on the app's page in the store you installed it from.
PadelNote — Informativa sulla privacy
Ultimo aggiornamento: 24 agosto 2026
Quali dati gestisce l'app
Dove stanno i dati
I tuoi controlli
